Special floor motion on AJR-28 will put California lawmakers on record whether they support funding TSA and paying airport security personnel
Today, Assembly Republicans will take a special motion on the Assembly floor to force a vote on AJR-28, a resolution calling on Congress to pass the Homeland Security appropriations bill and ensure funding for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
The motion will put the California Legislature on the record on whether they support funding TSA and ensuring that airport security personnel receive their pay.
“It is inexcusable that California Democrats remain silent as tens of thousands of TSA agents go without pay because counterparts in Congress are playing political games with the nation’s safety,” said Assemblymember Carl DeMaio.
The resolution comes amid the ongoing delay in passing the federal Homeland Security appropriations bill, leaving TSA agents across the country working without pay.
