Senior Scam Stopper
Assemblymember DeMaio will be hosting a Senior Scam Stoppers seminar on Tuesday, December 16th, from 9-11 am with the District Attorney’s Office, San Diego Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI.
Unfortunately, scammers have recently come up with new, very deceptive ways to scam seniors by spoofing government agency numbers on caller ID and using people’s addresses and relatives’ names in scam calls or emails to make it sound legit. Law enforcement has been launching radio ads and has been featured in news stories lately, trying to alert our elderly population. Assemblymember DeMaio is concerned about the latest tactics scammers are using to target our elderly population.
